The Serra da Canastra National Park is one of the most important Brazilian National Parks, it's located in state of Minas Gerais, it was created in 1972 in an area of 71,525 ha.
Serra da Canastra has the shape of a chest, hence the origin of the name. Inside the park is located the historic source of the São Francisco River, after 14km there is its main fall. The waterfall Casca d'Anta with approximately 186 meters height is one of the main attractions of the Park, leaving a natural cut of the Mountain of approximately 144 meters, that is, the height of the mountain reaches 330 meters.
The Park protects a scenery of rare beauty, its transitional vegetation between the "edge of the Atlantic Forest" and the "beginning of the Cerrado", with predominance of Altitude Fields that shelter numerous species of fauna and flora of the Cerrado, such as maned wolf, giant anteater, puma, pampas deer, the endangered Brazilian merganser and giant armadillo, bush dog, king volture, toco toucan, southern crested caracara, red-legged seriema, greater rhea and many more birds. Vegetation is mostly rocky fields and cerrado, with 45 endemic species of flora.

Our tours allow to discover the best of the Park and spot the most important wildlife, thanks to our very expert local guides and wildlife trackers.
