In the Paraguay River of the province of Cáceres, jaguar population is increasing every year. We propose this expedition during which we will explore the best jaguar spots including the Taiamã Reserve, a big river island of about 11,000 hectares that becomes an Ecological Reserve in the 1981 by the Chico Mendes Institute.
The environment is amazing, it is composed primarily by flooded fields, has in its interior a variety of aquatic environments, such as grass fields, forests, lagoons, streams and riparian forest, strongly influenced by the seasonality of the hydrological regime of the Paraguay River.
This location off the beaten tracks with high concentration of jaguars, offers the possibility to photograph lot of species in completely tranquillity in a wonderful landscapes, without presence of massive tourism, such as the endangered giant river otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) during their incredible fishing scenes.
The accommodation is possible either in an house-boat or in a lodge.
After the tour we suggest to consider a small tour extension of 1 or 2 nights in a lodge in the province of Poconé, to know the best part of the mithical Transpantaneira road.
